Need a good college CV? Increase your extra circular activities! To get into a good college or
university or to even get a job you need to get practical experience through workshops and
competitions.
Studies prove that most students who got their dream jobs, weren’t excellent academic students
but they participated in extra circular activities a lot. So to help you get your dream job, here are
some events hosted by Scholastica where you can participate.
Scholastica Mathematics and Programming Conference (SMPC) 2022:
This online international event is hosted by the programming club and mathematics club of
Scholastica Mirpur campus students from 10 February 2022. Students from classes III to XII can
participate. There are 6 competitions in this event where students can take part in.
First is Mathematics Olympiad. It’s a solo competition with one round. Participants will be given eight
questions which they have to finish in sixty minutes time. The top eight scorers are eligible to
participate in Minus 8. In Minus 8 The top eight scorers from Mathematics Olympiad will be selected for
a knockout round. Then the top four will be selected for the semi finals. In the finals two
students will compete against each other.
Next up is Treasure hunt. It’s a group competition with one round. A group must consist of four
participants. Each group will be given clues. The clues will give the answer to the puzzle. The
group to finish the competition first wins.
Relay is also a group competition with one round. Each group must have four members. Each
group will be given twelve questions, four main questions and eight bonus questions. The parts
of the question paper will be divided among the group members. At last the fourth member’s
answer will be considered for points. The three groups that score the most wins the first ,
second and third places.
School vs School is another group competition consisting of four members each. Each
members will be assigned to one category from Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory,
Combinatorics. There will be eight questions for each group member. The three groups who get
the highest mark wins.
Programming olympiad is an individual olympiad with two rounds. Each round for three hours.
Participants will be given five questions they have to solve in the given time.
Participating in this event can help increase your knowledge on mathematics and programming. It will
be a fun experience and you can also learn a lot. So if you are a programming and mathematics
enthusiast, you should definitely participate.
Virtual Science fair: Scholastica Mirpur campus is also hosting a science fair for all the science
lovers! It’s an online event which will take place on 26 February 2022. Students from class I to
Class IV can participate. If you love science and want to showcase your talent, don’t wait and
sign up.
These are really great opportunities to gain knowledge and have fun in the process. So to make
a good impression when getting a job or applying for college and university, start participating in
competitions and increasing your co-curricular activities
