If you enjoy watching action, crime, and thrillers, then ‘My Name’ is highly recommended. A journey of revenge full of twists and action performed by the female lead.

People had a lot of expectations from the Korean Drama “My Name” directed by Kim Jin- Min, after “Squid Game” became extremely popular in a short period of time. The cast, producer, director and writer of “My Name” provided audiences with eight thrilling episodes which contain twists and action scenes flawlessly executed by the female lead Yoon Ji Woo played by Han So Hee.

 

Previously Han So Hee played roles in K- Dramas such as “The World of The Married”, “Nevertheless”. After watching “My Name”, people will see that her character is unlike any other character she played previously.

 

The story revolves around a girl named Yoon Ji Woo who grows up on her own without her single dad who is rumored to be a part of a drug ring (Dongcheon) lead by Choi Mu Jin. The police followed her in search for her father who was a wanted criminal in their perspective. On her birthday she gets a call from her dad. She tells her dad how frustrated she is because her dad is a gangster. Her dad feels guilty for not being with his daughter in her difficult times and finally musters up the courage to meet her. The moment he rings the doorbell and Ji Woo is about to open the door, he gets murdered and his daughter witnesses it. She feels unbearable pain as she holds her father in her arms. She becomes determined to catch her father’s murderer and seek revenge.After the police officers reject her complaints she goes to her father’s boss Choi Mu Jin and gets herself trained under him . Vengeful Ji Woo becomes stronger and defeats all the gangsters. She enters the drug unit of the police force while being a member of a drug dealing team herself, with a different identity. She changes her name to Oh Hye Jin and tries to catch the police officer who is responsible for her father’s death according to Choi Mu Jin. 

The series is full of suspense and twists which keeps the viewers hooked up to the show. Han So Hee represented herself gracefully in the drama and she was the center of attraction. Moreover, her acting was natural which made the series even more realistic. The audience were on the edge of their seats while watching “My Name”. Fans were amazed and thrilled by the storyline and her acting. People said that “My Name” casting was absolutely perfect . Every character played their role diligently, but Pill Do (Ahn Bo Hyun), Choi Mu Jin (Hee Son Park) and Yoon Ji Woo/ Oh Hye Jin (Han So Hee) are the highlights of the series who nailed their roles and audience got goosebumps and are impressed by their acting skills.

 

If you love the genre: action, thriller, crime, “My Name” is highly recommended. The series teaches viewers how to survive alone, face betrayals, never talk to anyone in a way which hurts them because you never know when will be your last talk with that person and regret it later when things cannot be reversed, and portrays the dark side of life. You can find the stunning and breathtaking series on Netflix and binge watch. 

Ji Woo finally completes her mission and wins against evil despite many obstacles that come in her way and pierces into her mentally and physically like thorns with sharp edges. She does not give up and kills the murderer of her father.
