KENDALL JENNERS TOP 3 JAW DROPPING MET LOOKS

WHAT IS MET GALA?

Also known as the Fashion’s Biggest Night out, this is a fundraising event arranged every year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The event welcomes starts, celebrity people, young creatives and industry paragons based on a theme. Many attendees can be seen in this glamourous event, including the diva Kendall Jenner. Stay tuned to experience 3 of her best Met Gala outfits! Ready to treat your eyes with glamour? Here you go.

1)MET GALA 2021

September, the 13th, marked the beginning of Met Gala 2021. This year’s theme focused on celebrating all things of  American Fashion, presented in a two-part exhibition; Part one:A Lexicon of Fashion and Part two:An Anthology of Fashion. For Part One,many of this year’s attendees channelled  America in Modern times and celebrated classic Hollywood style.

Among them, Kendell Jenner was one such attendee who brought recognition to Old Hollywood in a modern way.Her breathtaking  outfit was inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s look in “My Fair Lady”; during her iconic roles, that of Eliza Doolittle. In the look, Hepburn pulled off with a dazzling white dress, designed by Hubert De Givenchy, with whom she collaborated multiple times throughout her career.

Similarly,Jenner was dressed by Givenchy, arriving in a sheer beige dress, which was trimmed with crystals and a striking train. This outfit also featured an outstanding jewelled neckpiece and shoulder pads- clearly remindful of Hepburn’s original version.

Furthermore, like  Hepburn, Kendall wore embellishments starting from the centre of the bodice, and glistened all the way down to the train.Although, Hepburn featured white opera gloves,Kendell opted for a more modern look; thereby, a sheer version of an elbow length accessory.

Jenner explained her Old Hollywood look on the red carpet to Vogue US: “I love Audrey, so we really wanted to take a special moment of hers and make it our own and I feel like he [Matt] did an amazing job as she wore Givenchy all the time.”

Givenchy’s creative directory Matthew Williams added: “It was that connection with French couture and American culture.”

2) MET GALA 2019

On May 6, fashion icons and designers from around the world flocked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for its annual Met Gala, celebrating the Costume Institute’s newest exhibition, Camp:Notes on Fashion. The theme’s inspiration comes from Susan Sontag’s  1964 essay “Notes on Camp”.

Once again, Kendall gifted our eyes with a high wattage dose of vibrant colour at the Met Gala 2019, harmoniously matching with her usual neutral looks. Her huge, orange Versace feathered gown featured a beaded fringe, a feathered hem and what not? Her over the top feather headdress added cherry on the top to the flapper-esque look. Furthermore, Kendall’s accessorising was a master class in striking style. Jenner pulled off a Tiffany necklace from the 2019 Blue Book Collection and matching earrings-all components of a ‘camp’ outfit.

3) MET GALA 2018:

On May 7, the Costume Institute had sanctified its love of fashion as it presents “Heavenly Bodies:Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. The theme is designed to create a bridge between fashion and the masterworks of religious arts in musuems

On 2018’s Met instead of turning to a barely naked dress, she has done in the past, Jenner surprised us with an off-the-shoulder long-sleeve white jumpsuit. She paired it with a matching set of wide-leg trousers that grazed the floor. And the best part? The pants had a train making it the perfect one for this kind of high-standard event. Even though the look didn’t completely match the code (Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination), it did turn heads for a surprising reason: this look is soberly reminiscent of Kim Kardashian’s look last year. Furthermore, her outfit was packed with delicate details including ruched sheer sleeves, which were connected to the gloves. The heavenly touch was brought by an extra long ponytail as extensions and Tiffany and Co. Jewels.
